Description:

This presentation is designed for early childhood educators, teachers, curriculum developers, school administrators, and anyone interested in promoting inclusive and equitable educational practices. It will explore the concept of translanguaging in the context of early childhood education, particularly within play-based pedagogy. Translanguaging involves leveraging the full range of a child’s linguistic and cultural resources, including spoken and symbolic languages, to enhance learning and foster a sense of belonging. By recognizing and promoting the use of multiple languages, educators can create inclusive learning environments where children feel valued and connected to their identities while exploring and making sense of the world. The presentation will also share how to document growth and evidence of Translanguaging learning.
