Richard, originally from York, England, spent thirteen years teaching in the UK before transitioning to international education in 2013 with his wife, Rachel, and their two children. His international career has taken him to Brunei and Singapore, where he has held senior leadership roles in three schools, specialising in Pastoral Care, Wellbeing, and Safeguarding.
In 2019, Richard founded the Singapore International Schools Safeguarding and Wellbeing Network to enhance best practices within the teaching community. He also serves on the FOBISIA Safeguarding Executive Committee, representing both Singapore and Malaysia in the region.
Passionate about equipping young people with lifelong skills, Richard is committed to fostering open-mindedness and resilience, key attributes that support mental wellness and personal growth.
