With a teaching career spanning over 25 years Rebecca has held a variety of leadership and teaching positions, including MYP, PP and CAS coordinator, and is currently the Head of Teaching and Learning at GESS, where she has worked for 19 years. As the Head of teaching and learning Rebecca is responsible for sustainable Professional Development programmes at GESS, and for data-informed high quality teaching and learning, alongside coordination of the CIS and IB accreditation evaluation visits. Rebecca has previously presented workshops at the EARCOS Leadership conference 2023, Data in Schools Conference, India 2024 and Singapore 2024, and is an active part of the IB educators network as a workshop facilitator for workings on Inquiry, programme evaluation, MYP Science and DP Chemistry to name a few. Rebecca has hosted Professional learning communities related to UDL and Visible learning. Rebecca is still active in teaching IB DP Psychology, alongside her other subjects of IB DP Chemistry, IB MYP Science, and is a qualified SEN coordinator. Rebecca holds a Masters in Inclusive Practice with honours, specialising in frameworks of risk and protective factors for supporting adolescent academic success. She has also been a IB accreditation and evaluation Team member and is currently excited to be starting on her journey as a CIS peer evaluator. Research into play based learning within the secondary classroom is a current passion project.
