Carla Hyland

Carla moved into international education in Singapore in 2011 and currently serves as Deputy Head of Secondary – Curriculum and Learning at Dover Court International School. In her leadership role, she has spearheaded a comprehensive review and redefinition of High-Quality Learning, shaping the DCIS Teaching and Learning Framework to drive continuous improvement and professional development.

She has led strategic initiatives on High-Quality Learning, Approaches to Learning (ATLs), and Assessment, alongside her growing focus on Generative AI in education. With a background in Psychology, Carla is deeply committed to enhancing teaching and learning through evidence-based strategies rooted in cognitive science.

An experienced facilitator of professional learning, she has delivered workshops on pedagogy and leadership development, most recently at Nord Anglia Education’s regional conferences in Abu Dhabi (2025) and Vietnam (2024).
